The Lincoln marathon was May 1, 2011. This was my 6th marathon, and I had an agenda. The plan was to break 4:00:00. It finally happened today.........My final time was 3:54:16-and although I had Boston on my mind-I am always reminded not to "PUSH IT". God teaches me something, on each and every race. First...he reminds me that he is in charge, and just how lucky I am to run, then he takes a notch out of my belt, and scoots my pride out of the way. I am then always reminded of my beautiful, wonderful, supportive family and husband-what a BLESSING they are!!!! Then he reminds me of my amazing running partners, and running buddies-who are just truly wonderful. Seriously....have you ever met a runner-who was not awesome! I am truly blessed to run and ever so grateful! Thanks Shay for pacing me the 1st 13.1-and a shout out to Angie C. and Suzy H. for great races today!
I don't win races, but I always cross the finish line. I'm not fast, but I try my best to become faster. I don't have sports endorsements or earn a paycheck, but that doesn't stop me from running. My pace does not define me. Just because "professional" does not precede "athlete" in describing me doesn't make my running any less valuable. I am an everyday athlete; leading a normal life, but with big goals and dreams. I am an athlete. I am a runner. Quote from "Run Zoe Run"
